An honest man confronts the truth about being honest with reality. 

   

Synopsis

Does our society encourages us to wear Purple Whigs?

Ryan is blue collar worker that believes in the American dream, traditional family values, and being honest. However, when Ryan is fired for refusing to mislead his customers during a recession, he cannot find work, denied unemployment benefits, and has to address his pride when he applies  for social services assistant during a recession.

Nevertheless, when Ryan begins to be honest with the truth about a corrupt society his values and principles will be challenged. Furthermore, Ryan will confront a series of additional challenges such as the sinister plot to destroy his business and family name by his former employee, his love relationship with Joanett, his biracial mother Hannah secret about his deadbeat father during her attempts to unite the biracial family, the death of his role model, the mirror, and the drama at the Purple Whig Club.

MONTAGE: Michael Jackson song “Man in the Mirror” plays over

A black and white montage of scenes featuring various people and things inside the mirror. A sword appears inside the mirror…cubes appear inside the mirror…a lock appears inside the mirror… a smiley face appears inside the mirror… a snake appears inside the mirror…a silhouette of a husband with his wife and three children appears inside the mirror… a silhouette of a woman with a shapely figure appears in the mirror… a silhouette of a person that runs fast across the mirror…a silhouette of man standing still inside the mirror…a person with one eye open appears inside the mirror…a person with their eyes closed appears inside the mirror…two hands covering his or her face appear inside the mirror…two eyes that are open appear inside the mirror... one eye open and one eye closed appear inside the mirror.

The sound of the trumpet is vague but gradually becomes louder.

INT. PURPLE WHIG CLUB – NIGHT

The people are dancing to the blues music of the Milz band.

Groovin and movin. Welcome to da

Purple Whig club cooling with

               swing and Blues. We’re the

               Milz band playing in the

               Key-of-life.

CUT TO:

EXT. SHAKESPEARE SPORT CAR – NIGHT

Shakespeare and Ryan drive to the Purple Whig club.

                Thad Purple Whig u in?

CUT TO:

RYAN

                I’m in let’s rock.

Ryan and Shakespeare get out of the sports car and enter the Purple Whig and walk towards the bar.

INT. PURPLE WIG BIG SCREEN TV - NIGHT

The audience turns their attention towards the big screen TV.
